We love working with investors. They are experienced, talented and professional.
But we have experienced a few blokey low points during our work with some of our startups.
Blokey investor conversations over lunches or marketing strategy meetings – with female senior executives at the table – have included…to all the executive team “We have to get the wives together”, and jokes about wives “putting out”, also derogatory comments about other investors’ male parts. Calling female executives “bossy” isn’t helpful either.
Really unnecessary and it simply makes everyone else feel uncomfortable. Credibility is diminished instantly. It would be great if the smart guys in the room would call-out this behavior.
